#5 - This Is The Blog Of A Killer, Bella!

Hoa hoa hoa hoa hoa…..

Woah did you guys hear that? That’s so weird, it almost sounded like…

✧˖° TWILIGHT SEASON ✧˖°

The air is chilling, the summer is fading, the clouds are clouding… and the the most magical time of the year is upon us: That special time when you hold your loved ones close, turn off the lights, flip the on the TV, and fix your unworthy eyes on the absolute masterpiece that is The Baseball Scene From Twilight (do NOT try Alice’s kick at home, folks, unless you want to have to replace your new lamp like I did).

Thus, I present to you: A Very Twilight Blog Post — and let’s just pretend it hasn’t been a month since my last entry (where the hell have you been, loca). Great! Firstly, the updates.

We are fast approaching the Clarity face reveal, which will be part of the super secret project Rae and I have been trying our hardest to keep quiet about. Shiver me timbers! I don’t have an exact date for you on that, but just know it’ll be soon. You better hold on tight, spider-monkey!

Julia Wolf’s mini-me doll was delivered, and I absolutely loved how she turned out (click here for my post)! And I’ll be seeing the actual Julia Wolf in concert in October! October will cure me, as it turns out. The Fear Street dolls were also delivered, and Olivia Scott Welch’s Instagram story post about it was so adorable. It is always such a joy for me to send dolls to artists I admire. I get giddy every single time. The fangirl in me will never die.

Speaking of… I am making a doll for someone very special, someone we’ve all been watching onscreen for years. I won’t announce it quite yet, but let’s just say she’s my favorite television wolf (not to be confused with the aforementioned Wolf comma Julia). A werewolf, if you will. Enough said for now. Trust that once I announce it, you’ll never hear the end of it from me. Ever. You’ll be sick of me, in fact, if you aren’t sick of me already.

With all this talk of wolves I feel it’s time to show some love to the vampires!

If you have been keeping up with my socials at all, you’ll know I am in the violent throes of a Twilight renaissance; Lately, I am one of those inflatable-car-dealerships-tube-guys and Twilight is a category five hurricane. And I am exactly where I want to be.

In all seriousness, Twilight has been helping me reconnect with that inner child, that mini-Clarity, at the core of my being. I feel as though everything I do is in the pursuit of feeding the inner child, including doll making. The movies I watch, the music I listen to, the fan fiction I read at 3am on a work night — I allow myself to be pulled freely into my hyper-fixations now, with no resistance and no shame (my Tiktok reposts are evidence of that). The older I get the more I can feel the inner child’s instinct to slip away, and by God, I refuse to let her. I refuse to keep her quiet.

Mini-Clarity used to be a massive Twilight fan — and here’s a little lore drop on me — I used to run a surprisingly successful Twilight fan edit account on Instagram. I wish I could remember the name of it, but I know that the handle included Rosalie. I was the number one Rosalie defender (speaking of Rosalie, click here to see the video I posted of her today). It makes me laugh to think about little-me running a Twilight fan account, growing up, starting DollsByClarity, and then posting Twilight fan content again. Time really is a circle. I think my younger self would be very proud of me right now, and truly that is all the validation I need.

She used to be embarrassed to say she loved Twilight.

I am not.

She used to be embarrassed to be nerdy and weird and creepy.

I. Am. Not.

For my other Twihards: Bella and Rosalie have been posted, and Victoria and Alice are on the way. Some other dolls on my horizon are Yelena (from the Black Widow movie this time), Sabrina Spellman, Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, Katie from Paranormal Activity, Lucy Gray from the Hunger Games, and two celebrity dolls for [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. I’m sure many more projects will be added to this list, as I cannot seem to control myself.

As always, I encourage you to join my Instagram channel Club Clarity, linked right here. I post lots of updates, process pictures, and general tom-foolery. Also, as always, I encourage you to join Rae and I’s physical mailing list, which is only $6 a month and includes even more of my writing. October will be a very special month. Check it out on the “Neptunity Mail” tab of this website.

Well ladies, gentlemen, CGI babies, Carlisle Cullen self-shippers, those nicknamed after the Loch Ness monster — that’s all I have for you today. Keep feeding that inner child, and if you’re reading this, why not DM me on my socials and tell me what your current inner-child-fuel is? I love to chat.

Words to live by: “You should put your seatbelt on.” —Edward Cullen
